Traci Dawn Clark, age 48, of Greenwich, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 30 after she failed to maintain her lane and collided with another vehicle causing damage, said Capt. John Slusarz of the Greenwich Police.
After Clark left the scene of the crash, the other driver involved followed her and called police to provide her location, allowing police to locate her and make a motor vehicle stop, Slusarz added.
Slusarz said an investigation during the stop found Clark had bloodshot and glassy eyes, could not answer the officer's questions, had the odor of alcohol, and appeared disoriented.
Her juvenile daughter was also in the backseat of the car, he said.
When asked to perform sobriety tests, Clark refused and backed into the officer's marked police vehicle, Slusarz said.
Clark was placed under arrest and charged with:
- Risk of injury to a child
- Operating under the influence
- Failure to drive in the proper lane
- Evading responsibility resulting in property damage
She was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
